Annual Meeting Minutes, Abridged

The Annual General Meeting was held on 19 September in the Records Room, with 63 members present and 41 present in the sense of being on the premises. The Chair, Dame Winifred Soot, opened proceedings at 2 p.m. with a stretch. Apologies were received from nobody, because nobody apologises.

Item 3, the financial report, was approved after a brief interruption by a moth. Item 5, a motion to rename Clause 14 as “Clause Fourteen,” was defeated. Item 8, any other business, was taken up by Mr. Dapple, who said only that he had a feeling. The meeting closed at 3:40 p.m., or at about the time the sun left the carpet. The minutes were agreed, and the sun, we regret, was not.
